Who We Are

IMC Plantations Ltd is principally involved in oil palm cultivation and milling in Nigeria. As a large scale industrial producer of sustainable palm oil, the company has one of the largest oil palm plantations and milling facilities in Nigeria. The plantation and the mill were both established in 1975 by the then Bendel State Government, and was managed and operated by the state owned Oil Palm Company (OPC) until it was handed over to IMC Limited. In 1996, IMC Limited obtained a lease concession for the Delta State owned oil palm plantation and oil extraction mill with a view to turning around the unproductive facility. With a proud history that spans over 18 years, IMC oil palm plantation and mill has grown to be an efficient plantation and mill company. IMC Oil Palm plantation and Mill’s primary business activities include cultivating oil palm trees, harvesting and processing fresh palm fruit bunches into Crude Palm Oil (CPO) and Palm Kernel (PK).

We produce the best Palm Oil in Nigeria

Palm oil is an edible vegetable oil derived from the mesocarp (reddish pulp) of the fruit of the oil palms, primarily the African oil palm Elaeis guineensis, and to a lesser extent from the American oil palm Elaeis oleifera and the maripa palm Attalea maripa. Palm oil is naturally reddish in color because of a high beta-carotene content. It is not to be confused with palm kernel oil derived from the kernel of the same fruit or coconut oil derived from the kernel of the coconut palm (Cocos nucifera).

The Outgrower Schemes, sometimes called "CONTRACT FARMING SCHEMES", involves a contractual relationship between small Farmers called OUTGROWERS and firms or Companies in the Commodity chain. These Companies often have a processing facility of the crop in question and with their own Plantation or not. The two main types of Outgowers are the SCHEME OUTGROWERS and the UNSCHEMED OUTGROWERS. For schemed Outgrowers, the contracting Company often supplies the Farmers with some farm inputs and Technical advice. Sometimes called VERTICAL COORDINATION, the model of production allows the Companies to organize commodity chains in order to ensure security of supply, provide commodity of a standardized quality and maximize efficiency and profitability.
